Taiwanese giant Acer - the second largest computer manufacturer after HP and bigger than Dell has just launched the first Netbook in the world to use Android 1.6, the Acer Aspire One D250. Apart from its simplicity, Android is a winner according to Acer because it only takes 18 seconds to boot up and 3 seconds to switch off.

The Aspire One D250 netbook, will be launched in Japan with Windows 7 Starter. But in the rest of the world Acer will install Android, using a dual-boot system (Windows XP today then Windows 7).
